Merida Cosplay

I didn't even see the movie before I wanted to cosplay Merida from Brave, lol. I've seen the movie since, though, of course. <3

I made this for Halloween 2012, and did so rather quickly. I still need to remake the upper sleeves, take in the waist (it's way big on me and doesn't flatter me at all). I need to hem it too, it's just safety pinned. This is the second wig I bought, which was loads better than the first one I had, but still not perfect enough.

I thought it would be hard to find the right kind of fabric for it, but it was so easy! The blue fabric was a home dec fabric from JoAnn's, the kind thats on that roll instead of a bolt. It was expensive, even with it being 50% off, but totally worth it because it was literally perfect.
Of course you can't see the fabric detail cause of the crap quality of the pics, heh. Well, you can a leetle bit on the far right picture. I had to take selfies in the mirror cause I was the only one home.

The chemise is full length, and super comfy. I need to fix the shoulders a bit on it, though.

The pin is a cute little celtic pin I found with three horses on it. I just wanted a little bit of detail there, since I wasn't able to get the ties done in time. Super happy with my makeup job, the freckles were fun.

When I get around to fixing up what I need to and make her cape I'll post better quality pics.
